On the occasion of World Heritage Day (18th April) and the week-long activities being planned by Janwani at Pune, Art India Foundation organized "Pune Heritage Cycle Ride" jointly with Aranyavaak on Sunday 22nd April 2012.
This cycle ride commenced from Fergusson College at 7 a.m.
The cycle ride covered various heritage sites in Pune such as Pataleshwar Temple, Omkareshwar Temple, Shaniwarwada, Kasba Ganapati, Raste Wada, Peshwa Daftar, Council Hall, Southern Command, War Memorial and ended at Empress Garden.
The response was overwhelming with 80 riders participating. The riders represented all age groups and were drawn from all walks of life. The cycle ride culminated at Empress Garden where refreshments were served to all participating riders. A support vehicle accompanied the ride courtesy Girikand Travels, Pune who also took care of the breakfast.
The concluding event of Pune Heritage Cycle Ride was a watercolour painting demonstration by artist Chitra Vaidya.
